Principal Cam Amott

The Mountainside community has a reputation for placing a high regard on the education of their students. I am excited to be a part of such a great school. I grew up in Smithfield and graduated from Sky View High School. After high school I spent a few years serving in El Salvador and developed a love for Central America. I returned to Cache Valley and graduated from Utah State University with my B.A degree in Elementary Education and Spanish. I later returned to USU’s beautiful campus to get my M.S in School Administration.

I began my Career at Lincoln Elementary teaching 3rd grade. I then moved to Greenville Elementary and taught 4th 5th and 6th grades there. In my years of teaching I developed a strong belief that every student can learn, and in holding every child to high standards. I have also seen the power of positivity in the lives of my students and believe in creating a school environment where kids, faculty, and staff feel loved and cared for.

My wife, Shalese, teaches special education in Cache District and we have 4 wonderful children. I look forward to working together to create a school community where our students can excel in their education.

School Support Specialist

I am so excited to be a part of this school community. I grew up right here in Cache Valley, graduating from Logan High School before heading to Utah State University, where I earned my BS in Elementary Education in 2003 (Go Aggies!).

Teaching is my passion, and I have had the wonderful privilege of guiding students across many different grade levels. My journey includes teaching Kindergarten, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades in the Cache County School District, as well as 4th and 5th grades down in Washington County School District.

When I’m not in the classroom, my life is beautifully busy! My husband, Randy, and I have five amazing children, three wonderful in-laws, one grandchild, and we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of three more grandbabies very soon. I love to sing (you will likely hear me singing down the hallways!), read, create, and spend time gardening. I also have an adventurous spirit. I love camping and hiking.  Traveling is a favorite pastime of mine. I love to experience new places, foods, and cultures.
