Administration & Support Staff
Principal Cam Amott
The Mountainside community has a reputation for placing a high regard on the education of their students. I am excited to be a part of such a great school. I grew up in Smithfield and graduated from Sky View High School. After high school I spent a few years serving in El Salvador and developed a love for Central America. I returned to Cache Valley and graduated from Utah State University with my B.A degree in Elementary Education and Spanish. I later returned to USU’s beautiful campus to get my M.S in School Administration.
I began my Career at Lincoln Elementary teaching 3rd grade. I then moved to Greenville Elementary and taught 4th 5th and 6th grades there. In my years of teaching I developed a strong belief that every student can learn, and in holding every child to high standards. I have also seen the power of positivity in the lives of my students and believe in creating a school environment where kids, faculty, and staff feel loved and cared for.
My wife, Shalese, teaches special education in Cache District and we have 4 wonderful children. I look forward to working together to create a school community where our students can excel in their education.

I am so exited to be working at Mountainside! I am from a small town in Wyoming and went to the University of Wyoming. Eventually we moved to Nibley about 5 years ago and love it!! I spend most of my time with my husband Nick and daughter Camille (9). I have a little dog name Fynn who has been my sidekick for 11 years. We love the outdoors and spend a lot of time in the mountains fishing, hiking, kayaking or at the lake playing in water. You will find me with my nose in a good mystery book, gardening or crocheting.

School Support Leader
I am so excited to be part of the Mountainside school and community! Previously, I supported Cache County School District as a behavior coordinator and a school psychologist. In my current role as Mountainside School Support Leader, I hope to contribute to the educational success of our school community, including teachers/staff, students, and families. A little more about me: I grew up in parts of Wyoming (Cody and Laramie) and Utah (Vernal) before completing my undergraduate and graduate studies at Snow College and Utah State University, where I majored in psychology and earned a graduate degree in school psychology. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three kids, being in the outdoors, and all things sports.
