Library End of Year Information:
As the end of the year draws to a close don't forget about your library books! All library books are due Friday, May 9th. If you have damaged a book, you can pay $15 per book to the office. If you have lost a book, please pay $15 per book. When we have to replace lost or damaged books, it hinders purchasing new series and award winning books for our library. Thanks for your support. Any questions please reach out to karen.lefevre@ccsdut.org or stop by the library on Wednesdays or Fridays to chat. It's been a great year!
Karen LeFevre, Media/Library Specialist
Lunch Balances:
Student lunch accounts must be current at years end . If your student has a negative lunch balance, please make a payment ASAP and make sure that their balance remains positive for the rest of the year. *All extra lunch funds carry over from year to year, they even carry over to the next school with the student as long as they stay within Cache County School District.
Principal Amott:
Mountainside Families,
May is here, and we are winding down another amazing year here at Mountainside! May means lots of fun activities, presentations, field trips, and assemblies! Please check with your child’s teacher about what they have scheduled this month. We don’t want anyone to miss out!
We have our final Acadience Reading assessment on May 16. We are the last school to test, which will limit our days to have absent students make up their test. Please plan to have your child at school on May 16.
Our school end-of-year awards assembly will be on Wednesday, May 28 at 9:30 AM. All parents are invited to attend this assembly. If your child is receiving an award, you will be contacted by the school and notified that they will be receiving an award.
Our last day of school will be Friday, May 30th. We will eat lunch at school and be released at 1:05 that day. We have started the tradition of “Clapping Out” our 6 graders who are moving on to middle school. If you are the parent of a 6 grader, you are welcome to attend that event at 12:50 PM on May 30th.
We will also be starting a new tradition this year! We are calling it “Rock the Halls,” and we are inviting the Graduating Seniors who attended Mountainside for elementary school. Seniors will start at the West hallway (younger grade hallway) and work their way through the school to end at the East hallway (older grade hallway). This will be on Tuesday, May 27 at 3:15 PM. Family members of these graduating seniors are welcome to attend.
As with every new year, our teaching assignments will look a little different next year.
- Kindergarten – 3 Full-Day classes - Mrs. Parish, Miss Lambert, Mrs. Jenson (Please see the attached kindergarten letter for additional information regarding full and half-day).
- 1st Grade – Mrs. Swasey, Mrs. Myers, Ms. Bair
- 2nd Grade – Mrs. Amott, Ms. Milligan, Mrs. M. Anderson
- 3rd Grade – Mrs. Hansen, Mrs. Turnbow
- 4th Grade – Ms. Wooden, Mrs. Didericksen, Ms. Shelton
- 5th Grade – Mrs. Holmgren, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Whitman
- 6th Grade – Mrs. L. Anderson, Mrs. Harris
Class lists for next year will be posted in August. Our back-to-school night will be Monday, August 18 from 6:00-7:00 PM. School starts for 1st – 6th graders on Wednesday, August 20. Kindergarten’s first day will be Monday, August 25th. Please let the office know if you will be moving out of our school boundaries or if you have changed your address. I want to say a heartfelt thank you for making this school year such a success. The support of this incredible community, PTA, and staff has created a culture where our students feel valued and thrive. As always, thank you for the privilege of serving your children and watching them grow.
Gratefully, Cam Amott, Principal
