After School Pick-up Procedures

The safety of your children is very important to us. We have in place procedures for our students, which will keep them from walking through moving traffic.

Front Loading Zone:

Cars in the right lane next to the curb - stop and wait for your children. Please do not park and exit your vehicle. Use the parking lot if you need to enter the building. Pull forward as space opens in front of you.
Children are not to leave the curb unless their parents are stopped by the curb directly in front of the school. Children cannot be picked up if you are pulled along the curb in the street.
The left lane is a thru lane. Please do not stop while in this lane.
Students should hurry to be picked up and not loiter in the halls.

Bike Racks/Bus Loop/Parking Lots

The front pickup loop is the only designated pickup area. The parking lots on the east and west sides of the school and the visitor parking lot at the front of the school are for parking only – these parking lots are not designated as a pickup/drop off zone. If you choose to park in a parking lot, instead of using the front pickup loop, you will need to walk to the designated area at the front of the school where your child will be waiting. Students will not be allowed to enter the parking lots without a parent.
At no time is it acceptable to park in a handicap accessible stall unless you have proper permits to do so.
Under no circumstances should vehicles enter the bus loop on the east side of the school or on the west side of the school by the kindergarten playground. These areas are for bus pickup only and are not a student pickup zone or parking area. Parking in the bus loops is not allowed at any time during the day.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences in elementary school play a crucial role in fostering a strong partnership between parents and educators, ultimately benefiting the child's academic and emotional growth. These meetings provide an invaluable opportunity for parents to gain insight into their child's progress, strengths, and areas for improvement while allowing teachers to share observations and strategies tailored to the child's unique learning style. By maintaining open communication, parents and teachers can work together to ensure that every child receives the support they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Step-By-Step Parent/Guardian Instructions for Scheduling Parent-Teacher Conferences

Click on the following link to access the scheduler: Parent Teacher Conference Scheduler.
From the Online Scheduler Home Page:
1. Choose your student’s school from the drop-down list and click “GO”
2. Enter the school password: birch (Note: this is all lower case)
3. Enter your student’s “Student ID”. If you do not know their Student ID, use the LOOKUP STUDENT ID button to access the system.
4. Verify the student’s birth date
5. A list of your student’s teachers will be displayed. Check the box next to the name of each teacher(s) you would like to meet with.
6. If you have more than one student in the school you can see all of your students’ teachers’ schedules at one time by answering YES to this question “Do you want to schedule conferences for another student?” then repeat the steps above for your other students. If you only have one student, answer NO to that question.
7. You will then see the available time slots for each teacher you selected.
8. Select the times that work best for your schedule.
9. Enter your email address (recommended) if you would like an email reminder sent to you. (Your email address is kept private.)
10. Once you have finished you can confirm your appointment details and print your conference schedule.
11. Write down the Confirmation Number (you will need this number to cancel your appointment)

PowerSchool and Canvas Information

Canvas Information

Parents can set up parent Canvas accounts and view the courses for which their children are enrolled. The process is simple and takes just a few minutes. Parents will need to work with their children to obtain the necessary "pairing codes" to complete the process.

Safety at Mountainside Elementary

Keeping our students, employees, and school visitors safe is a top priority. We regularly review and practice safety processes and procedures in our schools.

BUILDING SECURITY
Extensive measures have been taken at each CCSD school to ensure building security. We ask that parents support these efforts by checking in at the main office whenever they visit the school. Additionally, students and parents are encouraged to report any security or safety concerns immediately. To report a safety concern, please speak with a school administrator or, to report it anonymously, utilize SafeUT.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Our district has adopted standard response protocols (SRPs) as part of our school safety plan, which establishes uniform, planned, and practiced response to an emergency or incident. Monthly drills are held at each school so students and staff can become familiar with and practice the SRPs. The SRPs are:

HOLD. Students and staff remain in the room or area.
SECURE. Students and staff are inside the building with locked exterior doors.
LOCKDOWN. Interior doors are locked, lights are off, students and staff are out of sight.
SHELTER. Students and staff shelter in place and respond to the hazard appropriately.
EVACUATE. Students and staff move to an announced location.

School Meal Information

The mission of the Cache County School District's Child Nutrition Program is to deliver safe, healthy, and enjoyable meals to the students of the Cache County School District. It is also our goal to provide a safe, clean and cheerful environment in the lunchroom and to give each student a positive experience during their meal.
